1. The sun was our light source and it bounced off the object we were photographing. The camera sets the shutter speed and the aperature. We focused the image through the lens and pressed the shutter release button to open the shutter and expose the film.
2. We took the film canister into the light proof dark room, reeled the film, put it on the center column which makes the tank light proof, put it into the tank, and put the lid on it. Then it is put through the chemicals. Developer makes the image appear, stop bath stops the developer, and fixer makes the image light proof. Then you can remove the negatives from the tank and put them in the wash. You can then clean them with photoflow and place them in the dryer.

Online Paper
1.A. Lake makes commute shorter, sweeter / A Family's demons
B. Print. It is clear that the stories were written for print.
2.A.On Wal-Mart judge rules in city's favor / A Family's Demons / Lake makes commute shorter, sweeter
B. Print. On paper you can flip through sections, plus there's no loading time.
C. I think it would be perfect if you could flip through sections.
3.A. A1. Mohammed Zobair; A2. Eric Risberg; B7. Rodolpho Gonzalez
B. They look better on print because there is less pixelization.
4. Print. It would have been online if there was a section flip function.
P.S. I saw this movie at Austin Film Festival and it is amazing.
5. Print. I just like being able to hold it in my hands and being able to quickly move through each page. I also feel like everything is still being written for print, they just copied online. I would'nt mind print if they fixed a few things, but even if it was perfect I would still probably go for print.

Story Idea
The best idea I have so far is to do a story on the drumline losing three people during the season. It's local and most people don't realize how seperate we are from the band.

UIL News Story
Students are outraged at the addition of a physical education requirement.
According to the new rule, every student in Leaguetown ISD has to have two semesters of physical education to earn his or her diploma.
Even seniors will be forced into taking the class.
“This is going to be hard,” said Becky Gordan, a junior, “I may have to take summer classes to be able to fit in those physical education classes.”
Another part of the requirement that’s being criticized is the fact that there are no exceptions.
“My kids get a good workout every day,” said football coach Barry Switzerland,” “football should be exempt.” However, school board president Arnold Schlister had a different view on the matter, “those kids may be getting enough exercise, but since they do those activities, they are leaders of the school and should set an example to others.”

very rough draft
In September of 1997 Kris Carino moved out of California and into Texas. She moved here because her dad got a job and her mom was tired of living there. “There’s a lot more trees here,” she says, “it’s prettier.” She likes both places but since she still has family in California she visits often, “I have grandparents and cousins over there.” She doesn’t know which one she like better, but according to her the people are nicer here.
