I interviewed Kris Carino.
Q:Why did you move from California?
A:My dad got a job and my mom was tired of living in california.
Q:When did you move here?
A:In September of '97
Q:How is Texas different?
A:The people are nicer. It's a lot prettier here too, there's alot more trees. It's pretty there too though, I like them both.
Q:What do you miss about California?
A:I have grandparents and cousins over there, so I still go over there and visit them.

Good informed, open ended questions, but you need to push more to get your interviewee to tell a story.
Tell a story about the people being nicer. Describe how it's prettier. Tell a story about what he does when he visits California.
First, re-interview for better story-like quotes.
Next, work on a lead for your story. Try either a description, anectodal, or narrative lead.
